Hey Shrek

I gratefully signed up as a patron this week to help support you to keep creating purposeful content and courses

In a social media focused, technology driven western world people are becoming increasingly disconnected to nature, disconnected from real people, real community and losing the essential humanistic behaviours and skills like hunting for our own food.

As a farm girl who grew up to make a career out of advising farmers on synthetic nutrients and pesticides to grow profitable crops and live stock. I’ve unfortunately seen some of the ugly reality of modern food production, and that’s driven me to keep hunting fresh organic produce in a sustainable way to nourish my own body and those I get to share my catch with. There’s no better feeling.

Your noob spearo podcast helped inspired me to move states buy a speargun and teach my self how to spearfish.

The 1770 course gave me the skills and confidence to go from spearing coral trout and stripeys to Spanish Mac, tuskys and jacks. The instructors on the course were legends in the purest form.

The sail and spear trip last year was a once in a lifetime experience I lost my voice from laughing on day 1 and I made friends for life. My most memorable moment from that trip wasn’t the awesome fish we speared but was waking up before the sun laying on deck of the sail boat on the Great Barrier Reef star gazing and chatting to other spearos.

It’s so rare as an adult to have the opportunity to unwind in healthy way. your pods, courses and retreats brings out the inner kid in all of us and they’ve helped me to grow as a spearo and as a person.

I’m still a very average spearo paying my dues and get so much from your podcasts and the people I’ve met through you so I hope you keep them coming in the future because I still have a bloody long way to go as a spearo .

I often think about how if all of us loyal listeners who have listened to 100s of your pods like me chipped in a few dollars a month, how many more courses retreats you could run connecting more good people together .. and even more importantly, helping to connect us back to natures wild elements and our food.

Gratefully. Liv
